Tradition Ranks Highest in South Florida for Move-In Figures
Home Sales in Early 2008 Approach One per Day
TRADITION, Fla. (May 5, 2008) – Resident move-ins at the Town of Tradition far outpaced all South Florida communities in 2007, according to the quarterly South Florida Executive Summary released by American METRO/STUDY, a national real estate research firm. The summary estimates 614 families moved into their homes in Tradition last year, 261 more than the No. 2 community, Islands at Doral in Miami-Dade County.
Tradition ranked No. 4 in housing starts among communities in eight South Florida counties during the same time frame, with 171 starts on the annual construction of new homes.
"The economic downturn continues to have an impact on residential construction, but Tradition has clearly become a destination of choice for South Florida homebuyers," said Shawn Reilly, vice president of marketing for Tradition developer, Core Communities. "We continue to see an up tick in sales into early 2008."
Tradition home builders sold 57 homes during the months of February and March 2008, alone, an average of nearly one home sold per day.
Home to more than 1,700 families, Tradition, located just west of I-95 at Exit 118 in Port St. Lucie, has become one of the most popular master-planned communities in Florida and the nation. The community offers numerous floor plans and a unique mix of charming villages, with townhomes and single-family homes starting in the $180s.
