Project Now Eligible for National ABC Excellence in Construction Award
Tradition, Fla. (August 11, 2008) The Landing at Tradition has been selected by the Central Florida Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors as an Award of Merit recipient in the category of Commercial Construction between $20-$50 million. HOAR Construction, based out of Orlando, served as contractor for the project and will accept the honor at the Central Florida Excellence in Construction Awards on October 4, 2008, at the Omni at Champions Gate.
Opened in October 2007, The Landing at Tradition is a 600,000 square foot power center on 79 acres located at the northwest corner of Interstate 95 and Tradition Parkway. Anchored by Target, the center currently includes nearly 30 retail stores, including L.A. Fitness, The Sports Authority, Petsmart, Old Navy, Ulta Cosmetics, Dress Barn, Lane Bryant/Cacique, Pier 1 Imports, TJ Maxx, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Catherines and Office Max.
"We are very pleased that HOAR Construction and the Landing at Tradition have received this recognition," said Karen Scott, executive vice president of development operations for Core Commercial Group. "Every effort was made to make The Landing at Tradition more than just a retail center and create an enjoyable and unique shopping experience. I think this award illustrates the success of that effort."
The Central Florida Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors annually recognizes builders and sub-contractors for their work during the previous year. Projects are judged in multiple categories based on the conditions and challenges of the project along with the total quality of construction. There is a top Eagle Award Winner in each category with other projects eligible for an Award of Merit if they reach a certain point total. The Eagle Award Winner in the Commercial $20-$50 Million category was Jennings Construction Services for the 101 Eola Condominium Project in Orlando.
All Eagle Award and Merit Award projects are eligible for the national Excellence in Construction Awards.
